The Government of NCT of Delhi, Headquarters: Delhi Fire Service has issued Letter No. F.6/DFS/MS/Business/2025/SZ/4° dated 21.08.2025, rejecting the renewal of the Fire Safety Certificate (FSC/NOC) for Jaina Tower II, District Centre, Janakpuri, New Delhi-58.
This is not a mere bureaucratic delay — it is a direct and official confirmation that Jaina Tower II is unsafe and non-compliant with fire safety requirements.
? Findings of the Fire Department
According to the inspection conducted on 18.08.2025, the following serious shortcomings were found in the building:
- First aid hose reel provided but not functional.
- Hydrant system provided but not functional.
- Sprinkler system in the basement not functional.
- Standby pumps provided but not working in auto mode.
- Diesel pump (2400 LPM capacity) provided but not functional.
- Exit signs missing/removed in several places.
- Electric wires not fixed properly, passing through passages, creating a fire hazard.
- External AC units blocking the passage and obstructing safe evacuation.
With such glaring lapses, the Chief Fire Officer (Sh. Virendra Singh) concluded that the building is not fit for fire clearance and rejected the application for renewal of the FSC.
?? What This Means for Residents and Visitors
- Legally unsafe: Without a valid Fire NOC, the building is officially unfit for occupation.
- High risk: Thousands of daily visitors, employees, and residents are exposed to life-threatening danger in case of fire.
- Management negligence: Despite repeated reminders, neither the builder nor the management has ensured functional safety systems.
? Authorities Put on Notice
A copy of this rejection letter has been forwarded to:
- The Chairman, DDA, Vikas Sadan, INA, New Delhi-110003
- The Executive Engineer (Building), MCD, Civic Centre, Minto Road, New Delhi
This means the matter is officially in front of both DDA and MCD, and no authority can now claim ignorance.
? The Bottom Line
The Delhi Fire Service’s Letter No. F.6/DFS/MS/Business/2025/SZ/4° dated 21.08.2025 is a red flag of the highest order. The building is non-compliant and poses an imminent fire hazard.
Until every single deficiency is rectified, Jaina Tower II should not be allowed to operate as usual. Lives are at stake, and negligence can no longer be hidden behind paperwork.
